SEGA Sammy & Capcom

SEGA Sammy Booth:
SEGA has a huge stage this year. Although they are not using the 2-floored setup for the booth like last year, their stage has stairs besides the big screen. So each guest that appear show up on stage like those Miss Universe contest.

SEGA Sonic Team Leader, Yuji Naka showed a next generation Sonic game in real time. The game looks like the Dreamcast Sonic adventure game but with a lot more enemies on the screen at the same time. Plus, everything is a lot smoother, has more depth. You can see much further away this time. There is a stage where Sonic move and jump in the valley and Sonic destroyed one robot and it hit other robots in the background doing a combo. The sky can be changed in real time from daylight to night time.

Entitled "SEGA, The Next Future." The show has footage from all videos at E3 plus the recent Jamma show in Japan with Virtua Fighter 5. Although it is the same footage from Jamma show, seeing it in person is amazing. VF5 is definitely something to look for.

Another next gen game is SEGA First person shooter game for xbox360. Here, they showed the game in real time video, then move the camera around in the second run to show us all the different effect they can add or change. It is real time.

SEGA booth also gave me another feeling that this year, every developer are either getting more cost conscious on their booth or their area is smaller due to the 2 biggest competitor(MS & SONY are in hall 4 to 6). There isn't a landmark there like last year (like a real Rally car). The floor design made it very crowded between Initial D PSP & Sonic DS.

CAPCOM
This year, they have a behind doors showing of Devil May Cry 4 which you have to line up to see it. It also has Bio Hazard 5(Resident Evil 5), but really I can watch Bio 5 ones on PS3 Booth. Capcom booth this year is less stylish but more opened than last year. It is a bit confusing which line is for Onimusha 4. I think you get yet another fan (but is foldable) for trying out the game.

The line up is ...long. As most line up has a person with a big sign saying how long the expected line up time is, Capcom's line has 60 to 120 minutes to wait except for the DMC4 footage (only 15 to 30 mins) In TGS, time management is very important. From 10am to 5pm, there is only 7 hours to see things. It sounds a lot but it is not a lot since there are many people here and there. All Kioks with games demo have line ups. Waiting here 15 mins, there 30 mins and your time is used up. Onimusha4 = skipped for me.

I watched the Devil May Cry 4 video and it is now up on the web. Still, it looks more impressive watching it in person there. For anyone planning to go to TGS, plan ahead and skip those that can be skipped.
